We are Bart and Jasper – father and son – and together we share a deep passion for travel and adventure. What began as a hobby grew into a lifestyle, and ultimately into a dream that we want to share with you today: Antares Safaris.
For Bart, it all started early. As a child, he traveled across Europe with his parents. The love for new places, languages, and cultures was instant. Later came long-distance backpacking trips, spontaneous encounters, adventures not found in travel guides – like hitchhiking among watermelons in a Greek farmer’s pickup truck. Planning trips independently, venturing off the beaten path, seeking the unexpected: it became second nature.
Bart & Ann
Since 2008, Bart and his wife Ann have been running their own B&B Antares in Bruges. There, stories from travelers around the world came together – and there the seed was planted for what would later become Antares Safaris. A meeting with South African guests led to a tip: “You must go to Botswana.” An idea became an adventure.
That first trip to Botswana changed everything. The overwhelming nature, the pristine character of the country, the wildlife, the silence, the authenticity – it touched our family deeply. We went back, again and again. And with each trip grew the realization: this is something we want to share.
Antares Safaris was born from that urge to let others experience that sense of wonder. We specialize in Botswana – not mass tourism, but authentic, tailored safari experiences.
