• 4×4 game drive: giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, antelopes, and with some luck, lions or a leopard

The bush plane flight to Shakawe is already an experience: from the air, you see the green mosaics of the Okavango slowly unfold. Xaro Lodge is located on a quiet river arm and is a paradise for nature lovers, photographers, and those seeking tranquility.

Stay: Camp Khwai (3 nights)

Khwai is one of the top regions for safari in Botswana, thanks to the mix of swamp, river, bush savanna, and open plains. From Camp Khwai, you go on safari in a very wildlife-rich part of the country.
What you might encounter here:
• Lions, leopards, and hyenas
• Wild dogs (with luck)
• Large elephant bulls and buffalo herds
• Hippos and many bird species
Safaris take place in the morning, afternoon, and sometimes in the evening — ideal for those who truly want to experience Botswana’s wildlife. Don’t forget to take a mokoro trip (traditional canoe), a serene way to experience river life.
Camp Khwai itself gives you the classic bush camp feeling: atmospheric, warm, in the middle of nature, and what a view!
Stay: Maun Studios (1 night)
Transport: bush plane from Camp Khwai to Maun
You fly to Maun, the safari capital of Botswana. You stay in a cozy B&B. A serene, small-scale hideaway on the Thamalakane River where you can unwind from your safari and once again be fully immersed in the atmosphere of Botswana.
